RESTON, VA, February 7, 2018 – 1Rivet, a Northern Virginia consulting firm specializing in strategic information technology consulting, outsourced services and talent acquisition, named Sid Ghatak Managing Director of Data and Analytics.
Ghatak is known for producing creative and elegant solutions that harness the power of innovative technologies, including predictive analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
“Joining 1Rivet was a meeting of the minds with people who look at problems from a business perspective first to truly understand clients’ pain points and opportunities, and then craft solutions that are equal parts people, process, data and technology,” Ghatak said.
During his two decades as a consultant, Ghatak has resolved profound data analytics challenges for Fortune 500 companies including Thomson Reuters, Time Warner, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Merck & Co. Inc. and Northrop Grumman.
“Sid’s leadership will accelerate our data analytics offerings,” said 1Rivet CEO Eric Middleton. “He’s an expert at identifying the optimal time to implement innovative technologies to create competitive advantages.”
He’ll lead a team of proven delivery professionals focused on building trusted advisor relationships with clients, particularly those in financial services, banking, utilities and telecommunications.
Along with 1Rivet CTO Krishna Nair, Ghatak will be responsible for collaborating with technology partners and conducting training and testing in 1Rivet’s 1Lab, which creates cost-effective, inventive, pre-built frameworks and accelerators, maintains the company’s code library and conducts research and development activities.
Ghatak is a purely self-taught technologist with an ability to both advise clients on actionable data strategy roadmaps and then drive purpose-built solutions. His background in economics, finance and strategy enables him to understand his clients’ problems on a fundamental level. Whether a client’s goal is expanding into new markets, addressing financial management concerns or executing a strategic acquisition, Ghatak takes the time to understand all implications, then crafts a holistic solution that positions the client for long-term success.
Looking ahead, Ghatak sees opportunity in the democratization of data and analytics. “Data will only increase in volume, complexity, type and velocity. Our clients have the opportunity to harness this growing asset and transform it into entirely new products, businesses, processes and capabilities,” said Ghatak. “Our role as strategic advisors is to help our clients understand the potential implications of this transformation and to position themselves to take advantage of it for sustainable, long-term growth.”
